2018年5月11-13日，由中国科学院微生物研究所主办，中国生物工程学会和《微生物学报》支持，联合南京医科大学第二附属医院、北京热心肠生物技术研究院、国家消化系统病临床医学研究中心、空军军医大学西京消化病医院、陆军军医大学基础医学院等机构，并由北京热心肠生物技术研究院承办的中国人体微生物组大会（CHMC 2018）将在北京国家会议中心召开。会议涵盖的主题包括：人体肠道微生物与慢性疾病；慢性感染、呼吸道微生物群和肠道微生物；先天性和适应性免疫系统与肠道微生物的相互作用；人肠道微生物与肿瘤治疗；微生物分析的生物信息学新工具；人体肠道微生物在营养和代谢中的应用等。
在这次CHMC 2018的会议上，赵立平教授将首次在国内详细介绍他和团队经过十几年的持续研究并发表在顶级期刊上的成果。除此之外，在5月12日的中国肠道大会上，樊代明院士、李兆申院士、印遇龙院士、魏辅文院士、Dusko Ehrlich等国内外著名院士专家将作开场报告。另外还有来自全球各地的近20位国际和国内专家学者将在会议上展示自己最新的研究进展。
